Kaldera is a brand founded with the purpose of bringing natural honey produced in the high-altitude plateaus of Bitlis to tables while preserving its authentic purity. This journey has been shaped not only by the goal of offering a product, but also by the vision of creating a sustainable value that protects what nature provides, inspires trust, and carries meaningful impact.
The foundation of this approach was laid in 1987 under the leadership of intellectuals and businesspeople from Bitlis. Established to provide young people with hope for the future, support equal opportunities in education, and offer scholarships to students with limited financial means, the BETAV Foundation has grown over the years into a strong social structure that has touched the lives of thousands of students.
This education-focused mission gradually came together with the idea of sustainably utilizing the region’s natural values. In line with this vision, BETAV Balcılık ve Arıcılık A.Ş. was founded in 2022. Through the Kaldera brand, high-quality honey obtained from the rich flora of Bitlis is brought together with modern production and quality standards and offered to consumers.
Our bees feed on a rich variety of flora, including astragalus, thyme, mountain tea, mullein, wild mint, and chamomile. This natural diversity creates a distinctive aroma and character in every jar. The source of Kaldera’s unique flavor lies in the exceptional nature of Bitlis’ high plateaus, reaching elevations of over 2,400 meters.
Our production process takes place in Bitlis, in our modern and hygienic facilities. With 5,000 m² of indoor production area and an annual packaging capacity of 2,000 tons, our honey is packaged after undergoing quality control and analysis processes, without additives and with its natural structure carefully preserved. Every stage of production is managed through a traceable system. In this way, trust is not merely a promise, but an integral part of our production process.
For Kaldera, the defining principle of production is not quantity, but quality. Production is limited to what nature provides. Each jar carries the traces of a specific harvest period and the natural conditions of that year. This approach preserves the character and authenticity of our products.

At the same time, our certified production processes are carried out with great care in compliance with national and international standards.
